Mortgage applications increased last week as borrowing costs eased, with the average rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage dipping below 7% for the first time in six weeks. Overall mortgage application volume rose by 2.2% on a seasonally adjusted basis for the week ending January 31.

Easy Brownie Truffles

1 Box chocolate chunk brownie mix
4 oz. butter
2 eggs
¼ cup sherry
Cocoa for dusting preheat oven to 350
Mix brownie mix, butter and eggs.
Spoon batter into lightly greased 8 inch baking pan.
Bake 45 minutes or until set. Let cool.
Crumble brownies into a bowl. Mix in sherry. Roll heaped teaspoons of the brownie mix into balls and place on a tray. Dust with cocoa to coat.

An evening at the Hollywood bowl is the perfect time for Fried chicken Hollywood Bowl Fried Chicken   2 tablespoons sweet paprika 1 tablespoon fennel seeds, crushed   8 chicken thigh or thin breast fillets   2 cups buttermilk   Oil,for shallow frying   2 cups   flour    1 tablespoon baking powder   2 teaspoons pink salt     ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper   Place the paprika and fennel seeds in a large bowl and mix to combine.
